Trainee Developer
First of all, had a practical task aimed to check my knowledge in JavaScript, HTML and CSS.
Performed that task completely with all extra items (see shopping-cart in the portfolio below).
During the internship, started to learn back-end web development with building the Node.js
application written in TypeScript (mainly) and JavaScript. Got to know the basic abstraction layers of
such applications: database (domain), services and controllers. Understood how to create models and
make SQL queries using Objection.js and Knex.js. At the services’ level, implemented CRUD
operations for working with a PostgreSQL database. Used Express.js for building a RESTful API at
the controllers’ level as well as Joi for data validation and sanitization. Also, realized filtering and
pagination. With JWT, performed authentication and authorization. There is a GitHub repository with
that application (see bus-station-test in the portfolio below). Unfortunately, due to the economic crisis
caused by the pandemic of COVID-19, was not appointed to the job position of junior web developer.

11/2019 – 12/2019
Had been allowed to take part in the above online course organized by IT company Andersen Lab. Did
homework after each video presentation (twice a week). Also, wrote a final project which was a plain
JavaScript todo-list application with login form and page routing. After passing all tasks, was
recommended to participate in a few-month probationary period with the following job interview.

This video course covers the fundamentals of the Node.js development. Obtained various useful skills
namely: how to work with NPM, Express.js, MongoDB databases and Mongoose; how to set and
check JWT authentication; how to upload files and images to a server; how to send emails from an
application; how to write test cases with Jest; how to deploy an application to Heroku; how to create a
chat connection using Socket.io and much more.
